Subaru fans, the wait is over – the 2025 Subaru Forester has officially made its Australian debut, and it’s turning heads for all the right reasons. Launched this past weekend at the Melbourne Motor Show, the sixth-generation Forester is set to arrive in showrooms mid-2025, and you’ll be able to find it right here at Tynan Subaru Sutherland very soon.
Boasting bold upgrades across the range – including a new hybrid powertrain, advanced safety tech, and a premium interior – this is the most capable and connected Forester yet.
A Stronger Hybrid System for Greater Efficiency
One of the biggest headlines is the inclusion of Subaru’s upgraded ‘e-Boxer’ hybrid system, which combines the iconic 2.5-litre Boxer petrol engine with an 88kW electric motor and 1.1kWh battery. Co-developed with Toyota, this system improves on previous hybrid iterations and retains Subaru’s trademark symmetrical all-wheel drive for unbeatable traction and control.
The Forester hybrid powertrain will feature the next-generation strong hybrid e-Boxer paired with a 2.5-litre boxer engine with a high-output electric motor delivering smooth, quite and efficient performance. Full specs will be confirmed closer to showroom launch but overseas models suggest it can travel up to 1000km on a single tank – ideal for Aussie road trips and everyday commuting alike.
Of course, for traditionalists, a non-hybrid petrol option will also be available.
